The Inclusive Sandbox

The topic of representation is complex, as there are many diverse views and opinions on how to best represent individuals and minority groups in various contexts. This project prompted me to reflect on my personal experiences with representation.

As a child, I frequently visited the museum, captivated by its collections and exhibitions. I would spend hours immersed in the paintings, photographs, and other works on display. While these visits were always enjoyable, I often found myself unable to fully connect with the art. Looking back, I now realize that there was little representation of the sexuality I started to identify with.

In this video, created in collaboration with visual artist Kiana Beijleveld, I will share my experiences growing up as a bisexual girl and my reflections on representation in art.
